Overview
Heat and Phlegm fill the Lung. Acute or acute-on-chronic.
Differentiate from
- Phlegm-Damp Obstructing the Lung (white sputum, no fever)
- Lung Yin xu (dry, little sputum)
Etiology
Wind-Heat turning inward; residual Phlegm-Damp transforming; smoking and rich diet.
Treatment Principle
Clear Lung Heat; transform Phlegm; descend Qi.
Representative formulas. Qing Qi Hua Tan Wan; Ma Xing Shi Gan Tang when Heat is high and Qi is rebellious.
Representative points. LU-5, LU-1, LU-10, LI-11, ST-40, BL-13.
