Overview
Damp-Heat pouring through the Liver channel. Often written with Gallbladder as Liver-Gallbladder Damp-Heat.
Differentiate from
- Liver Fire (drier, more rage and headache, less discharge)
- Damp-Heat in Bladder (urinary burning dominates)
Etiology
Alcohol and greasy food; damp-heat climate; constraint that transforms; preexisting Spleen Damp.
Treatment Principle
Clear Damp-Heat from the Liver and Gallbladder; drain the Lower Jiao if the channel is wet.
Representative formulas. Long Dan Xie Gan Tang; Yin Chen Hao Tang when jaundice dominates.
Representative points. LIV-3, LIV-5, GB-34, GB-24, BL-18, BL-19, SP-9.
