Location

On the chest, in the seventh intercostal space, 4 cun lateral to the anterior midline, directly below the nipple (in women, on the midclavicular line), one rib below LV14.

How to locate: Find the sternal angle, where the second rib joins the sternum, and count down to the seventh intercostal space on the vertical line through the nipple (the midclavicular line in women); in men the nipple usually lies in the fourth space. The point is there, one space below LV14.
