Back-Shu point of the Liver

Location

On the back, 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of T9.

Needling

Depth: 0.5–0.8 cun
Angle: Oblique, directed medially
⚠ Cautions: Pneumothorax risk on deep perpendicular insertion.

  • Spreads Liver qi and relieves constraint
  • Nourishes Liver blood and benefits the eyes
  • Clears Liver heat and damp-heat
  • Extinguishes wind
