Overview
Heart Qi xu plus Cold: the Heart cannot warm or move Blood.
Differentiate from
- Heart Blood Stasis (stabbing night pain, purple tongue, choppy pulse)
- Shao Yin Cold (systemic icy collapse, desire to sleep)
Etiology
Progression of Heart Qi xu; Kidney Yang xu failing to warm the Heart; chronic cold or overwork.
Treatment Principle
Warm and tonify Heart Yang.
Representative formulas. Gui Zhi Gan Cao Tang; Shen Fu Tang in collapse; Zhen Wu Tang if water overflows.
Representative points. HT-5, P-6, BL-15, REN-17, REN-6, DU-14 with moxa.
