Etiology
Aging, overwork, febrile disease, excess sex, stimulant use, long constraint.
Pathomechanism
Deficient Kidney Yin fails to cool and moisten; empty heat arises.
Treatment Principle
Nourish Kidney Yin; clear empty fire if it is blazing.
Representative formulas. Liu Wei Di Huang Wan; Zhi Bai Di Huang Wan if empty fire is strong; Zuo Gui Wan for Essence.
Representative points. KI-3, KI-6, REN-4, SP-6, BL-23, KI-2 if empty fire.
