Overview
Both sides of the Kidney axis are empty. Mixed heat and cold.
Differentiate from
- True Heat / False Cold (crimson dry tongue, rapid pulse)
Etiology
Long illness, aging, over-treatment of one side only, menopause.
Treatment Principle
Tonify Yin and Yang together, weighting the side that is more empty.
Representative formulas. Er Xian Tang; Jin Gui Shen Qi Wan plus Yin herbs; Dihuang-based formulas plus Lu Jiao or Xian Mao cautiously.
Representative points. KI-3, REN-4, DU-4, BL-23, SP-6.
