Overview

The two Yang organs of transformation are both cold. Dawn diarrhea is the signature.

Differentiate from

  • Damp-Heat diarrhea (burning, yellow greasy coat)
  • Spleen Qi xu without Yang xu (no marked cold)

Etiology

Chronic Spleen Yang xu reaching the Kidney, or Kidney Yang xu failing to warm Earth; cold diet; aging.

Pathomechanism

Both organs fail to warm and transform, producing interior Cold and water retention.

Treatment Principle

Warm and tonify Spleen and Kidney Yang; stop diarrhea; transform water.

Representative formulas. Zhen Wu Tang; Si Shen Wan; Fu Zi Li Zhong Tang; You Gui Wan as root.

Representative points. BL-20, BL-23, DU-4, REN-4, REN-6, ST-36 — moxa.
