Overview
Blood fails to move through the Heart and chest vessels.
Differentiate from
- Heart Qi Stagnation (distending oppression from emotion, less purple)
- Lung Phlegm (cough and sputum dominate)
Etiology
Qi xu or Qi stagnation failing to move Blood; Cold congealing; Phlegm obstructing; aging.
Treatment Principle
Invigorate Heart Blood; move Qi in the chest; warm if Cold is present.
Representative formulas. Xue Fu Zhu Yu Tang; Dan Shen Yin; Gua Lou Xie Bai Bai Jiu Tang family when chest Yang is blocked.
Representative points. P-6, P-4, HT-7, REN-17, BL-14, BL-17, SP-10.
