Overview
The Kidney cannot grasp the Qi sent down by the Lung. Chronic dyspnea.
Differentiate from
- Phlegm-Damp Obstructing the Lung (copious sputum, slippery pulse)
- Lung Qi xu alone (less low-back emptiness)
Etiology
Chronic Lung disease draining the Kidney; aging; constitutional Yang xu.
Treatment Principle
Tonify Kidney (usually Yang); help the Kidney grasp Qi; descend Lung Qi.
Representative formulas. Su Zi Jiang Qi Tang; Ren Shen Ge Jie San; Jin Gui Shen Qi Wan as the root.
