Overview

The Gallbladder cannot supply courage and decision. Often with Heart or Liver Blood xu.

Differentiate from

  • Phlegm-Heat disturbing GB (greasy yellow coat, bitter taste, restlessness)

Treatment Principle

Warm and tonify the Gallbladder; nourish Blood; calm the spirit.

Representative formulas. An Shen Ding Zhi Wan; Suan Zao Ren Tang when Blood is also xu; Gui Pi Tang when Heart-Spleen Blood is the root. Do not use Wen Dan Tang here — that formula is for Phlegm-Heat disturbing the Gallbladder, not Gallbladder Deficiency.
