Overview

Liver Blood fails to nourish eyes, sinews, and the Uterus.

Differentiate from

  • Liver Yin Deficiency (red peeled tongue, empty heat)
  • Liver Blood Stasis (purple, fixed pain)

Etiology

Blood loss, Spleen xu, diet, postpartum, long constraint consuming Blood.

Pathomechanism

Deficient Liver Blood fails to nourish the sinews, eyes, and to anchor.

Treatment Principle

Nourish Liver Blood; strengthen the Spleen; regulate menses.

Representative formulas. Si Wu Tang; Bu Gan Tang; Dang Gui Shao Yao San when Damp is also present.

Representative points. LIV-8, SP-6, ST-36, BL-17, BL-18, REN-4.
