Description

Chai Xian Tang (Bupleurum Decoction to Raise the Sunken), from the Shen Shi Zun Sheng Shu (Master Shen's Book for Revering Life) by Shen Jin-Ao.

Actions: Harmonizes the exterior and interior to relieve shaoyang syndrome; Eliminates phlegm stagnation; Regulates qi circulation in the chest.

Presentation: Shaoyang syndrome with phlegm stagnation: alternating chills and fever, bitter taste, chest and hypochondriac fullness and oppression, chest pain on coughing or deep inhalation, thick sticky phlegm hard to expectorate, rapid breathing, poor appetite, yellow tongue coating.

Composition: Herbs listed without doses; formula combines Xiao Chai Hu Tang and Xiao Xian Xiong Tang.
