Overview
Spleen Qi xu plus failure of the raising function.
Differentiate from
- Kidney Qi not Firm (more urinary dribbling and low-back emptiness than digestive sinking)
- Damp-Heat leukorrhea (yellow foul discharge)
Etiology
Progression of Spleen Qi xu; multiparity; standing or lifting beyond capacity.
Pathomechanism
The Spleen fails to raise the clear Yang, so Qi sinks.
Treatment Principle
Tonify Qi and raise Yang.
Representative formulas. Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang.
Representative points. DU-20, REN-6, ST-36, SP-6, DU-1 for rectal prolapse, extra points at the site of prolapse.
