Overview
Full Fire in the Heart agitating the Shen and flaring to the mouth.
Differentiate from
- Heart Yin Deficiency with empty fire (night heat, peeled tongue, thin pulse)
- Phlegm-Fire (greasy coat, rattling, more chaos)
Etiology
Emotional Fire, hot diet, alcohol, Heat entering from the exterior, constraint turning to Fire.
Pathomechanism
Blazing Heart Fire agitates the Shen and descends to the Small Intestine.
Treatment Principle
Clear Heart Fire; settle the spirit; drain via the Small Intestine if urine is scorching.
Representative formulas. Xie Xin Tang; Dao Chi San; Liang Ge San when the middle is also blazing.
Representative points. HT-8, HT-9, HT-7, REN-15, LI-11, DU-24, KI-6.
