Description

Fu Zi Li Zhong Wan (Prepared Aconite Pill to Regulate the Middle), from the Tai Ping Hui Min He Ji Ju Fang (Imperial Grace Formulary of the Tai Ping Era) by Imperial Medical Department.

Actions: Warms yang and dispels cold; Tonifies qi and strengthens the Spleen.

Presentation: Deficiency and cold of the Spleen and Stomach: extreme coldness of the body and extremities, mild perspiration, indigestion, borborygmus, severe epigastric and abdominal fullness and pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and sudden turmoil disorder with muscle spasms.

Cautions:

  • Use with extreme caution in yin deficiency; hot, dry herbs further damage yin
  • Contraindicated during pregnancy

Pharmacological effects reported:

  • Analgesic: injection of the formula showed analgesic effects in mice

Preparation

Grind to powder and form 3 g honey pills. Dissolve 1 pill in a bowl of water and cook until 70% of the liquid remains; take warm before meals on an empty stomach. For children divide into 2-3 doses. May be decocted with the bracketed doses.
