About

The college prescription for toothache of the kidney deficiency type, from deficiency fire flaring because kidney yin is insufficient.

Rationale

The teeth are governed by the kidney and lie on the course of the Stomach and Large Intestine channels. KI3 nourishes kidney yin and settles the deficiency fire, while ST6 and ST7 regulate the qi of the channel at the jaw to relieve the pain.

Clinical Notes

The book says its toothache section covers acute and chronic pulpitis, dental caries, periodontal abscess and pericoronitis.
