Overview

The Stomach has no fluids to descend or to receive food.

Differentiate from

  • Stomach Fire (burning hunger, thick dry yellow coat)
  • Spleen Qi xu (pale tongue, loose stools, no dry hunger)

Etiology

After febrile disease, irregular meals, hot diet injuring Yin, chronic worry.

Pathomechanism

Deficient Stomach Yin fails to moisten and descend.

Treatment Principle

Nourish Stomach Yin; generate Fluids; descend Qi.

Representative formulas. Sha Shen Mai Men Dong Tang; Yi Wei Tang; Mai Men Dong Tang.

Representative points. REN-12, ST-36, SP-6, KI-6, REN-4, BL-21.
