Energetics dose-weighted
The formula's overall nature, taste balance and channel reach, weighted by each herb's dose. Classical formulas often pair warm and cool herbs on purpose, so a net figure summarises the mix — it doesn't describe every herb in it.
Nature
Net cool (-0.86)
From 100% of the weighed grams.
Grams by band: cold 41%, cool 21%, neutral 21%, warm 17%.
Small but decisive: Sha Shen 30g (cold, 7% of the grams), Mai Men Dong 30g (cold, 7% of the grams), Tian Men Dong 30g (cold, 7% of the grams), Sheng Di Huang 30g (cold, 7% of the grams). Dose weighting nearly cancels a herb this small, but it may be what the formula is for.
Taste
- sweet 60%
- bitter 36%
- salty 2%
- bland 2%
From 100% of the weighed grams.
Channels reached
- Lung 79%
- Liver 55%
- Kidney 41%
- Heart 24%
- Stomach 17%
- Spleen 17%
Share of the grams entering each channel, from 100% of the weighed grams.
Dose-weighted from each herb's recorded nature, taste and channels (missing values are left out, never counted as neutral). It describes the composition — it is not a recommendation.
Preparation
Cook and condense all herbs except E Jiao into a paste; dissolve E Jiao in it; mix with honey into 15g pills. Take 1 pill three times daily, dissolved under the tongue then swallowed.
