Description

Xi Gan Ming Mu San (Wash the Liver and Brighten the Eyes Powder), from the Wan Bing Hui Chun (Restoration of Health from the Myriad Diseases) by Gong Ting-Xian.

Actions: Dispels wind-heat; Clears Liver heat and fire.

Presentation: Wind-heat attacking the eyes: redness, swelling and pain of the eyes, dizziness, and headache.

Composition: Equal amounts of all herbs; no numeric doses printed.

Pharmacological effects reported:

  • Ocular: with Huang Lian Jie Du Tang significantly suppressed LPS-induced aqueous flare in rabbits (P < 0.001)
