Description

Sang Ju Yin (Mulberry Leaf and Chrysanthemum Drink) is a mild formula for Wind-Heat at the beginning of a cough with relatively mild systemic symptoms. Lighter than Yin Qiao San, it specifically targets the Lung with its cough-stopping and Wind-Heat dispersing actions. It is the formula of choice when Wind-Heat invasion has predominant respiratory symptoms with mild fever and no significant sore throat.

Preparation

Decoct lightly for only 5–10 minutes (aromatic herbs). Take warm for fever or at room temperature.

Dosage

Decoction: take every 4–6 hours for acute conditions. Light decoction only — do not over-cook.
