Description
Hou Po Wen Zhong Tang (Magnolia Bark Decoction for Warming the Middle), from the Nei Wai Shang Bian Huo Lun (Clarifying Doubts about Injury from Internal and External Causes) by Li Gao.
Actions: Warms the middle jiao and activates qi circulation; Dries dampness and relieves abdominal fullness.
Presentation: Damp-cold affecting the Spleen and Stomach: epigastric and abdominal distention, fullness and/or pain, low appetite, lethargy, white tongue coating, deep, wiry pulse.
Cautions:
- Avoid cold and raw foods while taking it.

Preparation
Source: grind to coarse powder; cook 15g of powder with 3 slices of Sheng Jiang in 2 large bowls of water down to one bowl; take warm before meals.
