Description

Bu Dai Wan (Cloth Sack Pill), from the Bu Yao Xiu Zhen Xiao Er Fang Lun (Supplement to the Pocket-Sized Discussion of Formulas for Children).

Actions: Dispels roundworms and treats gan ji (infantile malnutrition); Tonifies and strengthens the Spleen and Stomach.

Presentation: Parasitic infestation with gan ji (infantile malnutrition) in infants and children: feeling of warmth in the body, sallow facial appearance, enlarged and distended abdomen, skinny arms and legs, dry, lusterless hair, and dull eyes.

Preparation

Source: grind to fine powder, form large water pills (~10g each); cook 1 pill in cheesecloth with 60g pork in water, give the pork and soup to the child; pill reusable next day. Processing: Wu Yi and Shi Jun Zi dry-fried, Lu Hui ground into thin particles, Ye Ming Sha cleaned. Today: powder with proportionally adjusted doses, 3g with pork soup on an empty stomach in the morning.
