Location

On the radial side of the thumb, approximately 0.1 cun proximal to the corner of the nail.

How to locate: At the intersection of a line along the radial nail border and a line across the nail base.

Needling

Depth: 0.1 cun
Angle: Shallow perpendicular, or prick to bleed
Bleeding technique: Pricking to bleed is the usual method — a few drops for acute sore throat, high fever, or to restore consciousness.
