Meeting point of the Du Mai with the Ren Mai and the Stomach channel
Location
Inside the mouth, at the junction of the upper lip frenulum and the upper gum.
Needling
Depth:
0.1–0.2 cun
Angle:
Oblique, directed superiorly, or prick to bleed
⚠ Cautions: An intra-oral point — observe strict hygiene and warn the patient. Bleeding is the more usual technique.
Functions
- Clears heat from the gums and the face
- Benefits the nose and the eyes
Indications
Swelling, pain and bleeding of the gumsmouth ulcersnasal congestion and nasal polypsexcessive tearing and eye painhaemorrhoids (classical)

The terminal point of the Du Mai, where it meets the Ren Mai to close the circuit of the two midline vessels.
