Fu Ke and Huan Chao
Star婦科還巢 (Fù Kē Huán Cháo)
Master Tung Ching Chang, Tung's Extraordinary Points.
Points
-
Two points on the thumb; regulates the uterus
-
On the ring finger; regulates the ovaries
Treatment Principle
Regulate the uterus and ovaries through the finger points that image them.
Indications
Method
Needle Fu Ke's two thumb points as a pair, shallow perpendicular, 2 to 3 fen, then Huan Chao on the ring finger. Tung's convention is the left hand in men and the right in women. Retain 30 minutes.
⚠ Cautions
Some Tung lineages caution against using Huan Chao and Fu Ke together in an established pregnancy, and against Huan Chao in the first trimester without specific indication. Where a pregnancy is confirmed or possible, defer to that caution.
About
The two points that carry the Tung system's reputation in gynaecology, and the ones most often used in fertility practice.
Rationale
Both sit on finger locations that image the reproductive organs in Tung's mapping — Fu Ke on the thumb standing for the uterus, Huan Chao on the ring finger for the ovaries. Huan Chao's name, 'returning to the nest', records its traditional use for helping a pregnancy establish and hold.
Clinical Notes
Commonly combined with the Xia San Huang for the constitutional background, and with Men Jin where dysmenorrhoea is the presenting complaint. Fertility treatment is a course measured in cycles; a single treatment tells you little.
