About

The second of two alternating college prescriptions for chronic (deficiency-type) sore throat, built on one of the Eight Confluent point pairs.

Rationale

KI6 and LU7 form one of the Eight Confluent pairings, opening the Yin Qiao and Ren vessels that meet at the throat. The book uses them to calm the deficiency fire that keeps the throat sore and dry.

Clinical Notes

The book directs that this pair and the KI3 and LU10 pair be used in alternation. It says the section covers acute tonsillitis and acute and chronic pharyngitis.
