Treatment Principle
Open the Ren Mai and Yin Qiao together to moisten dryness and settle the chest and throat.
Indications
Method
Needle LU7 on one side and KI6 on the other — classically the master point on the side of the complaint and the coupled point opposite. Retain 20 to 30 minutes.

About
One of the four Eight Confluent pairings, each opening one of the eight extraordinary vessels through a master point on one limb and a coupled point on the other.
Rationale
The Ren Mai governs the yin of the front of the body and the Yin Qiao the yin of the medial leg; opened together they address dryness and yin depletion at the level of the vessel rather than the channel. The characteristic presentation — a throat that is dry and raw in the evening, with poor sleep — is the one this pairing was made for.
Clinical Notes
Distinguish this from an acute sore throat, where LU11 and LI4 are the choice. The Ren Mai pair suits the chronic, dry, worse-at-night throat, not the hot acute one.
