Description

Qing Luo Yin (Clear the Collaterals Decoction), from the Wen Bing Tiao Bian (Systematic Differentiation of Warm Disease) by Wu Ju-Tong.

Actions: Clears heat and dispels summer-heat.

Presentation: Summer-heat invading the Lung and qi (energy) level: fever, slight thirst, blurred vision, an unclear feeling and swelling sensation in the head, and a slight red tongue body with a thin, white tongue coating.

Cautions:

  • Only for mild to moderate summer-heat; insufficient for severe cases

Preparation

Cook in 2 cups of water down to 1 cup; take twice daily. Most herbs should be fresh and aromatic. Can be taken regularly in lower doses as a summer tea to prevent summer-heat invasion.
