Description

Niu Huang Qing Xin Wan (Cattle Gallstone Pill to Clear the Heart), from the Dou Zhen Shi Yi Xin Fa (Teachings of Generations of Physicians about Pox) by Wan Quan — a variation of An Gong Niu Huang Wan.

Actions: Clears heat; Eliminates toxins; Opens the sensory orifices; Calms the shen (spirit).

Presentation: Heat invading the Pericardium: delirium, semi-unconsciousness, feverish sensations, fidgeting and irritability; infantile convulsions with constant muscle contraction; zhong feng with closed orifices.

Preparation

Source: powder and form corn-kernel-sized pills with flour and water; take 7-8 pills with a Deng Xin Cao decoction. Today: 1.5 g honey pills, 2 pills per dose two to three times daily; adjust for children by age and weight.
