Energetics dose-weighted

The formula's overall nature, taste balance and channel reach, weighted by each herb's dose. Classical formulas often pair warm and cool herbs on purpose, so a net figure summarises the mix — it doesn't describe every herb in it.

Nature

Cold Cool Neutral Warm Hot

Net slightly cool (-0.73)

From 100% of the weighed grams.

cold cool neutral warm

Grams by band: cold 40%, cool 13%, neutral 27%, warm 20%.

Small but decisive: Ling Yang Jiao 3g (cold, 7% of the grams), Huang Qin 3g (cold, 7% of the grams), Che Qian Zi 3g (cold, 7% of the grams), Da Huang 3g (cold, 7% of the grams). Dose weighting nearly cancels a herb this small, but it may be what the formula is for.

Taste

pungent sweet bitter salty bland
  • pungent 20%
  • sweet 28%
  • bitter 31%
  • salty 11%
  • bland 10%

From 100% of the weighed grams.

Channels reached

  • Lung 73%
  • Kidney 53%
  • Stomach 40%
  • Spleen 40%
  • Heart 33%
  • Liver 33%

Share of the grams entering each channel, from 100% of the weighed grams.

Dose-weighted from each herb's recorded nature, taste and channels (missing values are left out, never counted as neutral). It describes the composition — it is not a recommendation.
