Location
On the Achilles tendon, at the level of the tip of the lateral malleolus, on the midline of the tendon.
Needling
Depth:
0.5–1.0 cun, through the tendon
Angle:
Perpendicular, passing through the Achilles tendon
⚠ Cautions: Needling through the tendon is uncomfortable; warn the patient. Avoid in patients with Achilles tendinopathy or on fluoroquinolone antibiotics.
