Location

On the anterior lower leg, 8 cun below ST35, one finger-breadth lateral to the anterior crest of the tibia.

Needling

Depth: 1.0–1.5 cun, or threaded toward BL57
Angle: Perpendicular, or threaded posteriorly toward BL57

Functions

  • Activates the channel and relieves shoulder pain
  • Expels wind and damp from the leg

Indications

Frozen shoulder and shoulder painknee and leg painnumbness and weakness of the lower limbabdominal pain

Clinical Notes

The classical distal point for frozen shoulder: needle deeply on the opposite side while the patient actively mobilises the affected shoulder.
