Location

In the groin, level with the superior border of the pubic symphysis (5 cun below the umbilicus), 2 cun lateral to the anterior midline, over the femoral artery.

Focks' Atlas of Acupuncture places it medial to the femoral artery and vein rather than over the artery, about 1 cun above the inguinal groove.

How to locate: Find the upper border of the pubic symphysis at CV2 and measure 2 cun lateral, halfway between the midline and the nipple line; the femoral pulse can be felt here. LV12 lies 1 cun below and 0.5 cun lateral in the inguinal groove.
