Location
On the anterior thoracic wall, in the depression of the infraclavicular fossa, medial to the coracoid process, 6 cun lateral to the anterior midline.
How to locate: With the arm abducted, a clear triangular hollow appears below the lateral third of the clavicle; the point is at its centre.
Regional anatomy: The axillary artery and the brachial plexus lie deep and lateral; the lung apex lies deep and medial.
Needling
Depth:
0.5–0.8 cun
Angle:
Oblique, directed laterally
⚠ Cautions: Deep perpendicular needling risks pneumothorax and may strike the axillary vessels.

- Clears heat from the upper burner
- Relaxes the sinews of the shoulder and arm
Indications
