Location

On the anterior thoracic wall, in the depression of the infraclavicular fossa, medial to the coracoid process of the scapula, 6 cun lateral to the anterior midline.

How to locate: Flex the arm and abduct it slightly against resistance: the deltopectoral triangle appears below the lateral third of the clavicle, and the point is at its centre. It lies on the transverse line along the inferior border of the clavicle shared by ST13, KI27 and CV21.

Regional anatomy: The axillary artery and the brachial plexus lie deep and lateral; the lung apex lies deep and medial.
