Location
On the lower back, 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of L5.
How to locate: With the patient prone, the line joining the highest points of the iliac crests usually crosses the L4 spinous process; move down one spinous process to L5. The point is 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the L5 spinous process.
