Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique developed in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui. The word 'Reiki' means 'universal life energy' in Japanese. Practitioners channel this universal energy through their hands to the recipient, with the intention of activating the body's natural healing processes and restoring physical and emotional wellbeing.

Sessions involve the practitioner placing hands lightly on or just above the body in specific positions, allowing energy to flow to areas of need.
