Description
Xiang Lian Wan (Aucklandia and Coptis Pill), from the Tai Ping Hui Min He Ji Ju Fang (Imperial Grace Formulary of the Tai Ping Era) by Imperial Medical Department — a variation of Zuo Jin Wan.
Actions: Clears heat; Dissolves dampness; Regulates qi circulation; Stops dysentery.
Presentation: Damp-heat dysentery with red (blood) or white (mucus) stools, rectal tenesmus, abdominal pain, and distention and oppression in the chest and epigastrium.

Preparation
Dry-fry 600g Huang Lian with 300g Wu Zhu Yu until red, discard the Wu Zhu Yu; grind Huang Lian and Mu Xiang into powder, form pills with vinegar the size of Wu Tong Zi (~5 mm); take 20 pills with rice.
