Description

Ge Xia Zhu Yu Tang (Drive out Blood Stasis Below the Diaphragm Decoction), from the Yi Lin Gai Cuo, is used to drive out blood stasis below the diaphragm; move Liver-Qi.

Presentation: blood stasis and Liver-Qi stagnation below the diaphragm; palpable abdominal masses with fixed pain; chronic malnutrition in children.

Syndrome: Syndrome of blood stagnation.

Composition strategy:

  • Wu Ling Zhi and Yan Hu Suo added to target the hypochondriac/Liver region
  • warm and cold herbs, blood-tonifying and stasis-reducing herbs balanced
  • Xiang Fu, Zhi Ke, Wu Yao move Qi to drive blood in this region
