Symptom differential

Pick the symptoms you have, and the tongue and pulse if you know them. The catalogue's conditions and TCM patterns are ranked by how well they fit — rarer symptoms count for more — and the tool suggests the question that would best tell the leading patterns apart.

Tongue and pulse

A sign a pattern records counts for it; one that opposes what the pattern records (pale vs red, slow vs rapid) counts against it. The sign list and its oppositions are awaiting clinical review.

Start by adding a symptom above, or pick one from the symptom index.

This ranks which catalogue pages list the symptoms you picked. It is not a diagnosis: many symptoms have causes the catalogue doesn't cover, and a persistent or severe symptom warrants a qualified healthcare provider.

How the order is worked out: each symptom counts for more the fewer records list it, and a record that lists a great many symptoms is scaled down so it can't win on breadth alone. Every row shows the symptoms that put it there.
