五嶺 (Wǔ Lǐng) — Five Ridges
Master Tung's Extraordinary Points · Zone 11 — Back (後背部位) · point DT.03
Location
A field of points on the upper and mid back, arranged in five rows: the first along the spine from T1 to T12, the second and third 1.5 cun lateral on each side, the fourth and fifth 3 cun lateral on each side. Twenty-five locations in all.
Needling
Depth:
Prick to bleed
Angle:
Prick the small visible vessels with a three-edged needle, then cup
Bleeding technique: The classical method is to identify small dark or raised vessels within the field, prick them, and apply cups to draw dark blood. Not all twenty-five locations are treated — the practitioner selects those that show a visible sign.
⚠ Cautions: Not for use in patients with bleeding disorders, on anticoagulants, who are pregnant, severely anaemic or very frail. Observe strict clean-technique and single-use sharps handling.

Clinical Notes
The largest and most-used bleeding field in the Tung system. Rather than a discrete point, it is a region searched for visible vascular signs. Tung regarded it as the strongest method available for chronic constitutional heat and toxicity.
