Location

On the lateral aspect of the lower leg, 3 cun above the tip of the lateral malleolus, 1 cun anterior to the posterior border of the fibula.

Needling

Depth: 1.0–2.0 cun

Invigorates blood and dissipates masses
Expels wind and benefits the face
Transforms phlegm

Indications

Facial paralysis and facial spasm — a primary indicationhemiplegia and post-stroke recoverybreast lumps, fibroadenoma and mastitisthyroid nodules and goitretinnituscerebral tumours (as an adjunct)swelling and masses anywhere

Needled as a Dao Ma group with: T.77.06, T.77.07

Clinical Notes

The three San Zhong points are needled together as a Dao Ma set, on the side opposite a facial paralysis. One of the most-used groups in the entire Tung system.
