Luo-Connecting point of the Du MaiMeeting point of the Du Mai with the Kidney and Gallbladder channels

Location

Midway between the tip of the coccyx and the anus, located with the patient prone or in the knee-chest position.

Needling

Depth: 0.5–1.0 cun
Angle: Oblique, directed superiorly close to the anterior surface of the coccyx
⚠ Cautions: Do not angle the needle anteriorly — the rectum lies in front. Intimate location; explain and obtain consent before treating.

  • Benefits the anus and treats haemorrhoids
  • Regulates the Du Mai
  • Calms the spirit and settles epilepsy

Indications

Haemorrhoids, anal fissure and anal prolapseconstipation and diarrhoeablood in the stoolepilepsy and manialumbosacral and coccygeal painimpotence

The classical point for haemorrhoids, usually with BL57 and GV20.
