Location
At the apex of the ear, located by folding the auricle forward.
How to locate: Fold the auricle forward so that the upper helix folds over the front of the ear; the point is at the highest point of the fold.

Bleeding technique: Almost always bled rather than needled: fold the ear, prick the apex, and express a few drops. A standard treatment for styes, acute conjunctivitis and fever.
