Location

On the forehead, at the midpoint of the eyebrow, directly above the pupil.

How to locate: With the patient looking straight ahead, palpate the eyebrow directly above the pupil; the point is in the small depression on the brow ridge at the middle of the eyebrow.

Needling

Depth: 0.3–0.5 cun

Angle: Transverse, threaded medially toward BL2 or laterally toward TE23

⚠ Cautions: Do not needle perpendicularly — the supraorbital foramen and the orbit lie beneath.
