On the popliteal crease, on the medial side of the tendon of biceps femoris, lateral to BL40.

Needling

Depth: 0.5–1.0 cun
Angle: Perpendicular

  • Relaxes the sinews of the knee

Indications

Difficult urination and retention of urineoedemalower abdominal distensionknee and popliteal paincramping of the leg

Clinical Notes

The Lower He-Sea of the Triple Energiser, and therefore the distal point of choice for urinary retention and fluid disorders.
