Description
Yin Chen Wu Ling San (Artemisia Scoparia and Five-Ingredient Powder with Poria), from the Jin Gui Yao Lue (Essentials from the Golden Cabinet) by Zhang Zhong-Jing.
Actions: Dispels dampness and treats jaundice.
Presentation: Damp-heat jaundice (more damp than heat) with dysuria.
Composition: Yin Chen plus the formula Wu Ling San
Pharmacological effects reported:
- Diuretic: no significant effect at normal adult doses; higher doses increased urine output without changing electrolytes
- Hepatoprotective against alcohol-induced liver damage in mice

Preparation
Grind into powder; take one spoonful [6g] three times daily after meals.
