Description

Yan Tang Tan Tu Fang (Salt Decoction to Induce Vomiting), from the Bei Ji Qian Jin Yao Fang (Thousands of Golden Prescriptions for Emergencies) by Sun Si-Miao.

Actions: Induces vomiting of stagnant food or poisonous substances.

Presentation: Food stagnation, and sudden turmoil disorder with inability to vomit or defecate.

Preparation

Source: dissolve a large amount of salt in 3 bowls of hot water (very concentrated); 1 bowl per dose warm, repeat until stagnant food is vomited. Today: saturated solution in warm boiled water, 2,000 mL per dose.
