Description
Qing Ge San (Indigo and Clam Shell Powder), from Great Compendium of External Medicine (1665).
Associated formula of Qing Dai San.
Actions: Clears heat; Gathers in dampness; Dispels putrefication; Helps close sores
Usage: Preferred over Qing Dai San when weeping is prominent, since clam shell is more astringent than talc.
Cautions:
- Calomelas (qing fen) is now precluded because of toxicity

Grind fine and mix with sesame oil and cool water into a paste.
