Energetics dose-weighted
The formula's overall nature, taste balance and channel reach, weighted by each herb's dose. Classical formulas often pair warm and cool herbs on purpose, so a net figure summarises the mix — it doesn't describe every herb in it.
Nature
Net slightly cool (-0.67)
From 100% of the weighed grams.
Grams by band: cold 47%, cool 7%, neutral 20%, warm 20%, hot 7%.
Pairs warm and cool. 27% of the weighed grams are warm or hot and 53% cool or cold — the net is their average, not the whole story.
Small but decisive: Rou Gui 6g (hot, 7% of the grams), Mu Tong 6g (cold, 7% of the grams). Dose weighting nearly cancels a herb this small, but it may be what the formula is for.
Taste
- pungent 16%
- sweet 8%
- sour 2%
- bitter 49%
- salty 25%
From 100% of the weighed grams.
Channels reached
- Liver 73%
- Stomach 50%
- Kidney 47%
- Spleen 33%
- Large intestine 30%
- Heart 30%
Share of the grams entering each channel, from 100% of the weighed grams.
Dose-weighted from each herb's recorded nature, taste and channels (missing values are left out, never counted as neutral). It describes the composition — it is not a recommendation.
Preparation
Source: grind to fine powder, form small pills with grain-based liquor; take 70 pills [9g] per dose with salted grain-based liquor or lightly salted water on an empty stomach, 1-2 times daily. Today may be decocted with the bracketed doses.

Each entry reads as the larger formula written out: “+” adds its other catalogue cores, then the herbs none of them hold. A catalogue formula counts as a core only when at least 80% of its herbs are present, no more than 1 is absent, and the absent herb is not its chief.
